The Forest Appeals Commission has been informed that its mail provider, BC Mail, will not offer deliveries or pickups during collective bargaining action.
Those involved with existing appeals before the Commission are encouraged to communicate with the Commission via telephone and email, using the contact information provide to them in their particular appeal.
Those looking to file an appeal are encouraged to do so electronically. Both fillable and non-fillable PDFs of the Commission’s Notice of Appeal are available on its website at www.bcfac.ca/resources/forms-and-templates/. They can be emailed to info@bcfac.ca.
Please note that there are statutory timeframes by which appeals must be filed with the Commission. The Commission may extend those timeframes in special circumstances; however, the lack of availability of mail service may not necessarily qualify in all cases. Anyone unable to file an appeal with the Commission because of a postal strike should contact the Commission via telephone to discuss their situation.
